Welcome to CPTED USA ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our websites, education offerings, news properties, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) assessment platform, and professional consulting services made available by CPTED USA (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
These Terms are intended to govern CPTED USA-operated public websites, authenticated applications, learning properties, news properties, and related digital services unless a separate written agreement, order form, enterprise agreement, or product-specific supplement expressly controls a particular service.
Purchases and refunds are governed by our separate Refund Policy. Handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. These Terms address permitted use, service access, content ownership, disclaimers, and liability allocation.
CPTED USA provides digital and professional services that may include:
To access certain portions of our Service, you may need to create or maintain an account. You are responsible for:
We may suspend or restrict access where necessary to protect the Service, investigate misuse, comply with law, enforce these Terms, or respond to security concerns.
You agree to use our Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:
You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of the data, media, content, and instructions you provide to us through the Service.
You are also responsible for determining whether a recommendation, report, educational resource, or software output is appropriate for your organization, facility, project, or compliance environment.
Our CPTED assessments and consulting services are provided by qualified professionals. However:
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by CPTED USA and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service, but grant us a license to use, modify, and display such content for the purpose of providing our services.
Data Ownership: Agencies and organizations own all data they submit to the Service, including security assessment reports, PDFs, images, site information, and all supporting documentation. CPTED USA does not claim ownership of your data.
Right to Export: You have the right to export all of your data at any time through the Service's data export functionality available in your organization settings.
Right to Deletion: You may request complete deletion of your data at any time. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently deleted, including:
Deletion Process: Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Upon account deletion or service termination, we will permanently remove all of your data from our systems within 30 days. You are responsible for exporting any data you wish to retain before deletion.
Organization Deletion: If you are the only member of your organization and you delete your account, the organization and all its data will also be permanently deleted.
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of the Service, to understand our practices.
Some service usage, outcome, or submission data may also be used in aggregated, de-identified, or statistical form for analytics and service-improvement reporting.
If you purchase services from CPTED USA under an order form, statement of work, enterprise agreement, training agreement, or other signed commercial document, that document may contain additional or different terms regarding fees, deliverables, acceptance, support, renewals, or termination.
If there is a direct conflict between these Terms and a separately signed commercial agreement, the separately signed agreement will control for the subject matter it addresses.
All purchases made on CPTED USA — including online courses, training programs, certifications, and any other digital products or services — are final and non-refundable. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to this policy and that no refunds, credits, or exchanges will be issued after payment is processed.
CPTED USA provides digital educational content that is made immediately available upon purchase. Because access to course materials and learning resources is granted at the time of purchase, we are unable to recover or restrict that access after the fact.
If you experience a technical problem preventing access to purchased content, please contact us at contact@cptedusa.com and we will work to resolve the issue promptly. If you believe there has been an unauthorized charge or billing error, please contact us before initiating a dispute with your bank or card issuer.
In no event shall CPTED USA, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the Service.
You remain responsible for your own operational, legal, architectural, engineering, security, and compliance decisions, including whether and how to implement any recommendation, report output, training content, or option to consider.
The information on this Service is provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CPTED USA excludes all representations, warranties, conditions, and terms relating to our Service and the use of this Service.
Without limiting the foregoing, CPTED USA does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for every project, jurisdiction, customer environment, or regulatory framework.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
